Proof the FBI Changed Documents, and Vincent Bugliosi Was Wrong

by Pat Speer
13 Apr 2009
In 2007, the legendary true crime writer Vincent Bugliosi released Reclaiming History, a Bible-sized book designed to answer all the questions regarding a possible conspiracy in the murder of President John F. Kennedy. Unfortunately, his “answers” provoked more questions. This short essay examines both the way Bugliosi dealt with one controversial matter, and the truth about this matter, as recently discovered by the author.
Although it is not mentioned in the text itself, on Reclaiming History's accompanying CD-ROM Bugliosi tackles a particularly troublesome question related to a pair of conflicting FBI reports. Intriguingly, these reports were written on the finding of a paper bag in the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD), the workplace of alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. The Warren Commission had concluded that Oswald had made this bag from paper materials available in the shipping room of the building, (Warren Report, p. 136) and had then used this bag to carry his rifle into the building. But the Commission had failed to uncover and reveal an important problem with the purported match between the paper used to create this bag, and the paper then in use in the building. Bugliosi compounds this mistake. On page 405 of his endnotes, Bugliosi discusses this problem and offers an explanation:
In a 1980 article in Penn Jones Jr.’s conspiracy newsletter, Continuing Inquiry, critic Jack White claimed that the FBI had “sanitized” a document relating to the FBI’s examination of the paper and tape used to construct the bag found in the Depository, and hence, was part of the “cover-up” to hide the truth about the assassination. White reported that two nearly identically worded FBI documents, found by a researcher at the National Archives, offered two opposite conclusions regarding the source of the paper Oswald allegedly used to construct the bag. One version stated that paper samples obtained from the Depository shipping area on November 22 were found to have the same observable characteristics as the brown paper bag recovered from the sixth-floor sniper’s nest. A second version said that the paper samples were found “not to be identical” with the paper gun sack discovered at the scene of the shooting. (Jack White, “The Case of Q-10 or the FBI Cover-Up Is in the Bag”, Continuing Inquiry, February 22, 1980, pp.1–2)

Although White crowed that the documents “cast doubt on the credibility of the official story,” and his allegations have subsequently been used by a parade of critics in many conspiracy books, magazine articles, and Internet postings as “proof ” of the FBI’s willingness to alter evidence in the Kennedy case, the two documents are no doubt examples of a misunderstanding that was cleared up by the Warren Commission in early 1964. In a March 12, 1964, letter, Warren Commission general counsel J. Lee Rankin asked FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover to settle the two ostensibly contradictory FBI reports. Rankin wrote, “We are in doubt. Please submit a report . . . as to the tests made and the conclusions drawn.” (FBI Record 124-10045-10081, Letter from J. Lee Rankin to J. Edgar Hoover, March 12, 1964, p.1; see also FBI Record 124-10022-10200) A week later, on March 19, Hoover responded that both reports were correct. The first report, dated January 7, 1964, referred to samples obtained from the Depository on December 1, 1963 (nine days after the assassination). By then, the shipping department had replaced its roll of wrapping paper with a fresh roll, since the fall period was its “heavy shipping season.” Consequently, the samples obtained by the FBI in December did not match the characteristics of the paper bag found on the day of the shooting. The second report, dated January 13, 1964, related to samples taken from the Depository on November 22, the day of the assassination. These samples were found to be “similar in color to [the bag recovered from the sixth floor]” and were “similar in appearance under ultraviolet fluorescence, as well as in microscopic and all other observable physical characteristics.” However, Hoover noted that while the paper bag found on the sixth floor could have been made from the materials available at the Depository, the paper and tape did not contain any watermarks or other significant, unique, identifying features. Consequently, the paper bag could have been constructed from similar materials “obtained from many paper dealers, or from other users.” (FBI Record 124-10022-10199, Letter from J. EdgarHoover to J. Lee Rankin, March 19, 1964, pp.1–2; see also FBI Record 124-10045-10082; CD 897, pp.157–168CE 1965, 23 H 816)
Bugliosi's explanation is both incredibly deceptive and incredibly wrong.

11/30/63 FBI report on paper bag, stating that it had the "same
observable characteristics" as TSBD-furnished paper. CD 5 p.129.

This is easy to see, once you know where to look. The article to which Bugliosi refers is a February 22, 1980 essay on the probable changing of a document provided the Warren Commission as part of an 11-30-63 FBI report (see Commission Document 5, p. 129, shown at right). What Bugliosi either fails to notice or fails to tell his readers, however, is the first thing he should have noticed: the date on the document. As displayed on the cover of the 1980 article dismissed by Bugliosi, and therefore presumably read by Bugliosi, both versions of the document were dictated on 11/29/63. This date is problematic. By Bugliosi's own account, the paper samples that did not match the characteristics of the paper bag were obtained on 12-1-63. So...how can a report refer to the results of a test that has not yet been performed, on an object that has not yet been procured? It can't. One might venture then that Bugliosi's "explanation" is little more than smoke, and that he really has no clue how to refute Jack White's article.

Alternate 11/30/63 FBI report discovered in National Archives by
Gary Shaw, stating that the TSBD-furnished paper was "found
not to be identical with the paper gun case."'
Reprinted in Henry Hurt's "Reasonable Doubt."
But, if so, he's not the first to run from this issue. Although it's widely presumed the document saying the paper and bag were not identical was first discovered in 1980, it was actually found years earlier, and brought to the government's attention at a time when it could easily have been investigated. Courageously, the discoverer of this document, J. Gary Shaw, discussed the document’s existence at a 9-17-77 conference sponsored by the House Select Committee on Assassinations, and suggested they interview FBI agent Vincent Drain, the author of the documents.
While the HSCA, sadly, failed to heed Shaw's request, we can still take comfort that Shaw found some outside interest, and that a series of researchers were able to ask and answer many of the questions the HSCA ignored. In 1981, researcher Ed Tatro, inspired by Jack White’s 1980 article on Shaw’s discovery, contacted the FBI seeking an explanation for the two conflicting documents. The Bureau's initial response explained nothing. In 1984, however, Tatro asked again, and this time received what is as close to an “official” explanation as we are likely to receive. As recounted by Tatro in an article in the January 1985 issue of The Third Decade, the FBI’s Assistant Director of the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs, William Baker, offered that the document discovered by Shaw was found to be “inaccurate” upon review at FBI headquarters, and that “The Dallas office was instructed to make corrections at that time.” To the question of how Shaw was able to find an uncorrected copy in the files, Baker explained further that the FBI sent two copies of the 11-30-63 master report to the Warren Commission, one on 12-20-63 and one three days later, and that the first copy had the uncorrected copy of page 129 later discovered by Shaw. As Shaw confirmed to this writer that he found the document in the Warren Commission’s files, and not the FBI’s files, this actually makes sense.
But this explanation also raises some questions. In 1980, after the appearance of Jack White’s article in The Continuing Inquiry, journalist Earl Golz asked the supposed author of these reports, FBI agent Vincent Drain, about the two conflicting reports bearing his name. Now, if Drain’s words were consistent with Baker’s subsequent explanation, one might reasonably conclude that the “mystery” surrounding the conflicting documents had mostly been solved. As reported by Jerry Rose in the March 1985 issue of The Third Decade, however, Drain’s answers were at odds with what Baker told Tatro. While Drain, in order to align with Baker’s subsequent explanation, should have admitted something along the lines of “I screwed up, and was asked to rewrite my report” he instead “expressed shock at seeing” the documents and “said he was as ‘puzzled’ as Golz about them.” Even more problematic, in light of what Baker was to reveal, Drain “expressed certainty that the copy saying the materials tested were the same was the original document,” and speculated that the document discovered by Shaw, and subsequently acknowledged by the FBI’s Assistant Director to be the de facto original document, was a “fake.”
If Drain, who had no way of knowing what Baker was to tell Tatro, was deliberately deceiving Golz, he was at least consistent. In 1984, author Henry Hurt asked Drain about the documents a second time, and gave him a second chance to admit he’d mistakenly written an “inaccurate” report, as later claimed by Baker. But Drain once again held firm. According to Hurt, Drain responded "I am certainly as perplexed as you are" and then claimed the report saying the paper bag and paper sample had the same observable characteristics was correct. (p. 98 of Reasonable Doubt, by Henry Hurt, Henry Holt and Co., 1985). (As a conclusion that the bag and sample were not identical would have cast doubt on the "official story" holding that Oswald created the bag at his work, Drain's proposal that the correct document was the one claiming the bag and sample matched was not exactly a surprise.)

The smoking file: 12-18-63 airtel from Shanklin to HQ.
Click image to view full document page.
Buried deep within the FBI’s files, however, there was a surprise. In thefirst part of Rose’s article in the March 1985 issue of The Third Decade he revealed that researcher Paul Hoch had uncovered a document demonstrating once and for all that Drain had indeed originally wrote that the paper sample and bag were "found not to be identical", and that this had later been changed upon orders from headquarters. This "smoking gun" document, so to speak, can be found in FBI File 105-82555, section 39, page 7. It is a 12-18-63 airtel from the Dallas Special-Agent-in-Charge, J. Gordon Shanklin back to FBI Headquarters, reporting that he is replacing page 129 of the FBI's 11-30-63 report with a different page, and is sending out additional copies of this page so that the page can be replaced in every copy of the report.
Should that document have not proved fatal to Drain’s story, however, two documents subsequently uncovered by Jerry Rose helped bury it completely. As revealed in the May 1985 issue of The Third Decade, the first of these documents, a 12-6-63 airtel from FBI Director Hoover’s office to Dallas, makes note that Drain’s report on page 129 of the 11-30-63 Report contains an “inaccurate statement” and orders the Dallas Special-Agent-in-Charge Shanklin to “handle corrections.”
The second document, from 12-11-63, is an airtel from Dallas back to Washington reporting Shanklin’s progress, and notes that the “necessary actions to correct inaccuracy” are “being taken.”
From these documents, then, one can only conclude that Drain, who’d only escorted the first day evidence from Dallas to Washington, and then flown it back, had either inaccurately represented the FBI Laboratory’s findings on an important piece of this evidence, or had accurately represented the Laboratory’s findings after a decision had been made not to do so. The former is suggested by reports and testimony claiming that the paper bag and sample had “the same observable characteristics.” The latter is suggested by the strange fact that Drain, for what would have to have been considered a monumental mistake, apparently received no reprimand, and that Hoover and Shanklin, in their correspondence on the “inaccurate statement” in Drain’s report, expressed no interest whatsoever on how he came to make such a statement.
While one could go on from here to discuss which version of Drain’s report was actually “accurate”, we’ll stop here instead and focus on the simple, unavoidable fact that the three documents just cited prove beyond any doubt that the FBI did, at least on occasion, change reports, even after they had been signed, dated, typed-up, and circulated.
For those studying U.S. history, this creates a problem. Historians, of all stripes and shapes, operate under the assumption the documents they are studying are written on the day they are dated, and are written by those signing the document. If Vincent Drain, when given the chance, had simply admitted he'd screwed up, and that his superiors had forced him to rewrite an inaccurate report, and that this was the only time this happened, perhaps we might still feel confident this holds true of FBI documents. Drain's initials, after all, appear on the revised document. But he did not. He either lied or forgot entirely about what would have to be considered a major mistake on his part.
As a consequence, we are left to wonder...did the paper sample have the "same observable characteristics" as the bag, or were the paper sample and bag "found not to be identical"?
And, more importantly…what other archive documents have been re-written weeks or months after the fact, and re-inserted in the record as if they were the original documents?
We await Bugliosi’s “answer.”

MEET ME IN TORONTO AS WE CELEBRATE LEE HARVEY OSWALD'S BIRTHDAY!

Loyal Friend to Honor Lee Harvey Oswald on his 72nd Birthday

Friend and author Judyth Vary Baker to celebrate Lee Harvey Oswald's 72nd birthday

Judyth in 1964. She was Lee Harvey Oswald's confidante in New Orleans

Quote startI won’t live to see another birthday cake,”
Lee said quietly into the pay phone in Dallas,
“unless I can get out of here. And if I don’t
do it right, we’ll all get killed.Quote end

Walterville, Oregon (PRWEB) September 22, 2011
Twenty year-old Judy Vary Baker listened soberly to these ominous words from a pay phone in Gainesville, Florida, as she recounts in her memoir, ME & LEE: How I came to know, love and lose Lee Harvey Oswald.
It was October 19, 1963. Her friend Lee Harvey Oswald had just had his 24th birthday the day before, and called Judy, as he did twice each week, to share what he was learning about the plot to kill President Kennedy. Judy knew Lee Oswald well. She had spent the summer of 1963 with him in New Orleans. Now, he was in Dallas, and she was in Florida. As her book documents in painstaking detail, she knew about the mercurial world of spies in which he worked; she knew about his time in Russia and his connection to the Mafia; she knew about his trip to Mexico City; she understood why he was becoming frightened of the real-world killers whose ring he had penetrated. Their code was hard. If Lee ran to protect himself now, he was afraid that they would retaliate by brutally killing his wife, his two young daughters, and possibly even his girlfriend to whom he was speaking on the phone. Their phone calls continued until Wednesday, November 20, 1963. Then, on November 24th, she watched the man she loved get murdered on live national television.
ME & LEE: How I came to know, love and lose Lee Harvey Oswald is a 600-page non-fiction autobiography by Judyth Vary Baker, which recounts Judy’s summer with Lee, their cover jobs at Reily Coffee Company, the secret medical project they worked on together, and the secrets he shared with her about JFK’s impending assassination.
Oct. 18, 2011 would have been Lee Harvey Oswald’s 72nd birthday and Judy Vary Baker, a recluse who rarely makes public appearances, wants to mark the date by asking the world to reconsider Oswald’s role in history. Her take: Lee was an undercover agent who had penetrated a ring determined to murder President Kennedy and was actually trying to prevent it. Instead, they framed him for the crime, and then murdered him before he could defend himself in a court of law. Ms. Vary Baker asserts that Lee Oswald was trying to prevent JFK’s murder, not cause it.
Former Governor Jesse Ventura calls Judy’s book “stunning” and ranked it among his six favorite conspiracy reads, adding that “her book shows beyond any doubt that (Oswald) was clearly a government agent.”
Judy’s connection to Oswald was documented earlier in a 2007 book entitled Dr. Mary’s Monkey, authored by Edward Haslam. In 2010 Judy came forward with her own book validating that her association with Oswald was personal, professional, and romantic. Me & Lee is a memoir that blows the lid off the Lee Harvey Oswald debate, and even names some of the men responsible for Kennedy’s assassination. It is a must-read for anyone interested in American history, politics or the fates of star-crossed lovers.
Afraid for her own life after the JFK assassination, Judy dropped out of sight and lived a quiet life until her children were grown. Today, she continues to live in an undisclosed location overseas, but will make a rare North American public appearance to mark her former lover’s birthday and to continue her efforts to clear his name.

Lee Harvey Oswald Admired Kennedy--Voice of CIA asset George deMohrenschildt

From audiotape given to me, made by Willem Oltmans, The Netherlands.

I have also stated, for the record, that Lee Harvey Oswald ADMIRED John F. Kennedy.  In my book, Me & Lee: How I Came to Know, Love and Lose Lee Harvey Oswald, I explain how Lee gave his life trying to save Kennedy's.

Learning more about George deMohrenschildt is a key to understanding Lee Oswald, who, after all, was just 22 years old when George first met him.  Internet media describes DeMohrenschildt's testimony before the Warren Commission as to be more trustworthy than what he finally wrote in his book I'm a Patsy!  But DeMohrenschildt stated clearly in his book and on tape that he regretted betraying his young friend before the warren Commission, was ashamed of himself for doing so, and had determined to set the record straight.

Online media pro-official version sources want us to believe that because deMohrenschildt produced a favorable portrait of Oswald later, we are to forget about that because it differs from the 'original' version.  George still retells some of Lee's flaws and faults -- as he correctly observed, Russian women strike their mates, and Lee had picked up "that Russian habit" which was not appropriate in the USA.  I,myself, saw Lee struggle with --and conquer -- his inclination to hit Marina, who clearly mocked and humiliated him even in the presence of others, as numerous taped statements by DeMohrenschildt and by his wife Jeanne indicate.

HISTORY BEHIND THE TAPES, THE DEMOH BACKYARD PHOTO, AND THE DEATH OF GEORGE DEMOHRENSCHILDT
Dutch journalist Willem Oltmans brought de Mohrenschildt to Holland from Texas in 1977. From Dutch sources I spoke to in 2003, it was generally believed that de Mohrenschildt, who had been placed in a mental institution in Texas after he declared he had been seeing visions and hearing voices, may have been drugged.  His wife, Jeanne, upon being convinced that this might have been the case, agreed to accompany her husband to Holland along with Oltmans.

It turned out that deMohrenschildt had been writing a book about Lee Harvey Osdwald, who, as many Russian did, sometimes called him, therein, Harvey Lee Oswald ('Lee' implied 'oriental' or "Chinese" to the Russian-speaking community at the time, linguistically).  He began reading the contents of his book in a series of taped segments, often interrupted by questions from Oltmans and by comments from Jeanne. There is no evidence of mental disturbance in DeMohrenschildt's tapes.

DeMohrenschildt had sometimes mentioned suicide in the past, but at the time of his so-called suicide later that year, with the promise of his book getting published, having received a $4000 payment for his story in Reader's Digest, he supposedly did just that --under unusual circumstances:

The official version, online:

"On March 29, 1977, while on a break from the interview [with Epstein], de Mohrenschildt received a card from Gaeton Fonzi, an investigator for the House Select Committee on Assassinations. That afternoon, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth with a shotgun."

A HEAP OF BODIES COME BEFORE US AS A RESULT OF THE HSCA'S INVESTIGATION. DEMOHRENSCHILDT'S TIMELY DEATH WAS ACCOUNTED A SUICIDE, UNTIL INVESTIGATED CLOSELY:

First, Epstein's word came into question as to the suicide(from Wikipedia):

"Edward Jay Epstein, an author who interviewed de Mohrenschildt shortly before his death, wrote the following diary entry (29 March 1977)
David Bludworth, The State's Attorney, was a folksy, charming and savvy interrogator. He began by telling me that De Mohrenschildt had put a shotgun in his mouth and killed himself at 3:45 p.m. There were no witnesses — and no one home at the time of the shooting. The precise time of his death was established by a tape-recorder, left running that afternoon to record the soap operas for the absent Mrs. Tilton, and which recorded a single set of footfalls in the room and the blast of the shotgun, which was found on the Persian carpet next to him. No suicide note or other clue was found. He said I was probably the last person to talk to him. Then, he asked whether I had in my possession De Mohrenschildt's black address book. I replied "No." He politely rephrased the question, and asked me again — about a half-dozen times, whether I had the black book.
But Epstein was incorrect — three people were at home at the time: the housekeeper was downstairs in the kitchen, and the cook and gardener were in the backyard."
ONLY after his death did the final "backyard photo" show up---a copy of another backyard photo upon the authenticity of which we must assume due to Jeanne's --not George's--statements:

133-A deMthe "DeMohrenschildt backyard photo" was

WAS DEMOHRENSCHILDT MURDERED?

Gaeton Fonzi was on his way: instead of finding a talkative George, there was suddenly a dead body. Curiously, ONLY THEN did the DeMoh backyard photo --never previously mentioned by George-- show up.  On the tapes, Jeanne often interrupted her husband, and many of these interruptions contained negative remarks about Lee's comportment, which she sometimes later amended to a more positive note.  It must be remembered that Jeanne had worked as a designer for Abraham Zapruder, who filmed Kennedy's assassination.

She might have been compromised --by fear, or a threat --to produce the photograph and say it had been found in their belongings. She was not living with George at the time of his death. He was visiting a daughter. It was Jeanne who turned over George's manuscript to the HSCA.  We do not know if she edited it.

"if you listen to the tape you hear this...beep-beep-beep-beep-beep---THE SECURITY SYSTEM...shows that someone ...opened the door and... [came] in the house..." --just before George 'killed himself."

A PAGE FROM ME & LEE: HOW I CAME TO KNOW,LOVE AND LOSE LEE HARVEY OSWALD

As early as Monday, July 29, 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald believed he could be "set up' as a patsy for John F. Kennedy's murder.

PAGE 419, CHAPTER 20 ("Tightrope"), from ME & LEE: HOW I CAME TO KNOW,LOVE AND LOSE LEE HARVEY OSWALD: (click to enlarge)

Lee had just returned from making a speech at Spring Hill College where he addressed graduate students studying for the priesthood under the direction of Jesuit professors. Described in the Warren Commission as "boys" these students were adult males with serious concerns about what the Jesuits were going to do about the spread of communism in Central and South America, with particular concerns about the Sandinistas--something never mentioned by the Commission. Even Bobby Kennedy had sent a priest to the conference. Lee was supposed to report to the FBI concerning Jesuits interests, to Guy Banister, who was anti-Catholic and hated the Jesuits, and to the CIA regarding Jesuit's attitudes towards Jesuits priests in the Americas who were preaching "liberation theology"--a form of Marxist philosophy the CIA believed represented communist interests.
The book Me & Lee explains additional details of concern to Lee: in the end, denied a chance to rise in the ranks, Lee saw that as a returned defector, though he'd been a loyal spy for the US in the USSR, his return alive made it impossible to trust him, and thus he was "better off dead to both sides."

Since Lee Oswald was at this time penetrating the assassination rings that were forming in New Orleans--and, later--in Dallas, Lee realized that he had penetrated them too easily, considering the fact that he was obviously distrusted. "I can see it coming," he told Judyth. "This is where my end begins."

Oswald's courage is revealed in very few words: he remained involved, even though he knew it might cost him his life, in an attempt to save Kennedy. Someday the world will recognize Oswald for the hero that he was. Until then, I will continue to fight for justice and vindication for Lee Harvey Oswald, hero, patriot and patsy.

LEE WASN'T GAY -- BUT THIS ARTIST PORTRAYS HIM THAT WAY!

PAUL WILSON IS AN ARTIST WHOSE LEE HARVEY OSWALD DOLL IS CURRENTLY ON TOUR AS PART OF A TRAVELING ART EXHIBITION.
PAUL WILSON IS GAY, AND AN ARTIST.  BESIDES THE DOLL CURRENTLY ON TOUR, PAUL HAS CREATED A NUMBER OF LEE HARVEY OSWALD DOLLS ONLINE WHO TOGETHER INHABIT AN ESOTERIC,CHARMING WORLD BASED ON THE 1950'S AND 1960'S. LEE IS PAUL'S HAIRY-CHESTED CHUM AND BOYFRIEND IN THESE HILARIOUS VIDEOS. YOU'LL PROBABLY LAUGH OUT LOUD AT SOME OF THEM.
BUT AS I KNEW THE REAL LEE, I HAVE TO CONFESS I WASN'T SO THRILLED.  AFTER ALL,J. EDGAR HOOVER,WHO PROBABLY GOT A WHIFF OR TWO OF MY EXISTENCE, MADE SURE NOBODY WOULD LOOK IN THE DIRECTION OF GIRL FRIENDS--DESPITE LEE'S KNOWN RECORD OF A NUMBER OF CONQUESTS OF THE FEMALE VARIETY AND HIS MARRIAGE AT ONLY 21 WITH A PRETTY GIRL, WHOM HE IMMEDIATELY GOT PREGNANT, FOLLOWED QUICKLY BY A SECOND PREGNANCY.
AS THE BOOK ME & LEE MAKES CLEAR, LEE SOMETIMES POSED AS A HOMOSEXUAL (1) AT LEAST TWICE TO GET CRITICAL INFORMATION ABOUT PRO-CASTRO SPIES, TO (2) SPREAD THE NEWS THAT HE WAS GOING TO LEAFLET AT THE DUMAINE WHARF, AND (3) TO BE MORE EASILY ACCEPTED AMONG DAVE FERRIE'S GAY FRIENDS, SOME OF WHOM WERE, BY THE WAY,BISEXUAL, INCLUDING FERRIE, WHICH SOME PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE (OR ELSE DAVE LIED TO ME).
I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW LEE ASKED ME TO KISS HIM TO "KEEP ME STRAIGHT"--  AS HE PUT IT --A JOKE HE MADE THAT CAUSED US BOTH TO LAUGH, AS  HE WAS DOING HIS BEST TO GET ME TO KISS HIM, AND USED THAT AS HIS EXCUSE!

HOOVER SPREAD THE WORD THAT LEE WAS GAY: LEE'S AUTOPSY PHOTOS 'PROVED' HE WAS A HOMOSEXUAL BECAUSE LEE'S PUBIC AREA WAS SHAVED, AS SEEN IN AUTOPSY PHOTOS (ALSO, SEE VOL. XXIV: CE1981 AUTOPSY REPORT).
I AM A LIVING WITNESS WHO CAN ATTEST THAT LEE'S PUBIC AREA CERTAINLY WAS NOT SHAVED--EXCEPT BY THE DALLAS POLICE, WHO WERE SUPPOSED GET 'HAIR SAMPLES'--AND WE KNOW THEY DID BECAUSE THEY OBTAINED 'PUBIC HAIRS' FROM LEE-- BUT THEY ALSO SHAVED EVERY HAIR FROM HIM THERE--IMAGINE HOW HUMILIATING AND DEMEANING THAT WAS!  SINCE THEY OBTAINED PUBIC HAIRS, LEE HAD THEM BEFORE THEY WERE SHAVED OFF.
"WENT TO THE 5TH FLOOR JAIL AND REMOVED HAIR SAMPLES FROM THE HEAD, CHEST, ARMS,ARM PITS,LEGS AND PUBIC AREA OF LEE HARVEY OSWALD. THIS WAS REQUESTED BY FBI AGENT..."
I,AS ANY BIOLOGIST KNOWS, CAN ATTEST THAT PUBIC HAIRS, WHEN THEY 'FALL OUT' HAVE BULBS ON THE END.
PULL ONE OF YOUR OWN HAIRS OUT AND LOOK At IT. IF YOU DID IT RIGHT, AS A NATURALLY FALLING HAIR WOULD LOOK, IT CARRIES A BULB ON THE END. THAT'S THE PART THAT GREW FROM THE FOLLICLE. WHAT WE SEE IN THE PHOTOS (BELOW) SHOW JUST THE SHAFT. THEY SHOW NO BULB ENDS--ESSENTIAL TO PROVE THE HAIR SAMPLES HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN BY SHAVING THE SUSPECT.
THUS WE FIND IN VOL. XVII: CE672 TWO BADLY UNDEREXPOSED PHOTOS SHOWING A PUBIC HAIR "AS FOUND ON THE BLANKET" THAT SUPPOSEDLY "HELD THE KILLER RIFLE," MATCHED AGAINST PUBIC HAIRS SHAVED FROM LEE BY THE DALLAS POLICE.

THESE COULD BE PHOTOS OF LICORICE STICKS, INSOFAR AS THEIR UTILITY TO THE PUBLIC IS CONCERNED. BUT I HAVE NO DOUBT 'PUBIC HAIRS FROM OSWALD' --WITHOUT BULBS ATTACHED--WERE 'FOUND' ON THE BLANKET THAT 'MATCHED' WHAT THEY TOOK FROM LEE AT THE BEHEST OF THE FBI AGENT.

IN TO KILL A PRESIDENT -- IN THE JAN 24TH ARTICLE, PART V, ARTICLE BY THE EXAMINER, CALLED "WHY WAS KENNEDY ASSASSINATED, AND WHY COVER IT UP?" WRITER DONNA ANDERSON NOTES THAT THE HISTORY CHANNEL SKIRTS THAT TOPIC AND INSTEAD FOCUSES ON PERIPHERAL MATTERS--SUCH AS MALIGNING ME (JUDYTH VARY BAKER) BY SAYING I CLAIM TO HAVE HELPED CREATE AIDS  (!!!!). ANDERSON TELLS US THE FOLLOWING:

"...according to Swearingen, the coverup lies squarely with Hoover. At that time, Hoover was the man with all the power. Swearingen believes that the CIA choreographed the assassination and then Hoover stepped in to cover it up.  Swearingen even infers that Hoover knew the assassination was being planned and stepped in to help.  Hoover was the only person powerful enough to order the Secret Service agents to stand back from the car, to change the parade route and include a left turn, etc.
Remember, the CIA and the Chicago Mafia had explicit photographic evidence of Hoover and his homosexual activities. The CIA also had evidence of Hoover's mixed heritage. At the time, it seemed like the best way out was for Hoover to put the blame directly on Oswald and close the case. And since Roemer, the FBI's man-in-charge, was so willing to jump on Oswald, too, it seemed an open-and-shut case.
But then witnesses started stepping forward. There were 3 shots, there were 6. The Zapruder film clearly showed a shot from the front, brains spewing out over the trunk of the car. Yet, in autopsy photos, there was no sign of an exit wound on the back of the head. Ford even admitted to doctoring the autopsy report.
By this time, though, Hoover was in too deep. He couldn't back down without admitting having knowledge of the mob in Chicago and we all know what the mob was holding over his head.

But how important is it really to know who shot Kennedy? Some experts have said that the coverup of the Kennedy Assassination has forever changed the way we, the public, view our government and our elected officials. That it's not the assassination itself that's important, it's the fact that the government has continued to lie about it for all these years. The end of Camelot was also the end of our faith in those people who claim to be looking out for our best interests. We really haven't been able to believe anything they've said since then because the evidence that they're lying about the JFK assassination is so overwhelming. Just look at any of the headlines in the news and then look for the corresponding conspiracy theories and you'll see the effect the JFK assassination coverup has had on America.
It's one thing to wonder where this country would be had Kennedy not been assassinated. But the more important question is – Where would this country be today if we stopped allowing our leaders to get away with …. well, murder?!"  *

WITH ALL OF THE ABOVE IN MIND...WE COME TO PAUL WILSON AND THE MATTER OF HIS CUTE LEE HARVEY OSWALD DOLLS --WHO ARE ENGAGED WITH PAUL WILSON DOLLS IN HILARIOUS FANTASY SCENARIOS, SUCH AS SMOOCHING AT AN OUTDOOR THEATER, BUT SHOULD NOT MISLEAD VIEWERS INTO THINKING LEE WAS GAY.

I ASKED PAUL WHAT HE MIGHT BE ABLE TO SAY TO VIEWERS ABOUT HIS "ARTISTIC LICENSE."AS AN ARTIST MYSELF, I DEFEND THE RIGHTS OF ARTISTS TO SAY WHAT THEY WISH. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT VIEWERS CAN TELL FACT FROM FICTION. HERE'S WHAT PAUL SENT TO ME--AND I THINK IT'S A FRANK AND HONEST RESPONSE:

Ms. Baker, It's Paul Wilson

Continued:

PERSON A: "A gay light? Most of the public knows he was in fact married to one 'Marina Prusakovich,' though few know her last name."
PERSON B: "That is correct. Lee was not a homosexual, and the artist is aware of this. He has read online-forums in which the question was raised as to whether he was even bisexual, which was not the case."
PERSON A: "And so, what is the artist trying to say? Is he out to mislead the public?"
PERSON B: "I do not think so. I think he is so far removed from what the general public may regard Lee Oswald as, that his 'own world' is widely regarded as not factual, especially given the absurd aspects of it. For example, how is it that Paul travels in time to 1950-something, and how then it is also possible that he and Lee - 'Wee' as he is often referred to - have a cocktail party in which Bette Davis or Lucille Ball, both icons of that era, are side-by-side with Anderson Cooper and Cher? It is all fantasy and meant to be good-natured, not salacious."
PERSON A: "Hmm. Some may grasp this, others will think it offensive to JFK and all that had to do with that time period."
PERSON B: "Again, this is what Paul steers clear of, even as far as acknowledging Lee's real life wife in his work. He is not out to slander."
PERSON A: "And what of the occasional 'HANDS OFF CUBA' flyers spotted now and again some of these 'works?'"
PERSON B: "If you take note, those are quickly replaced by 'HELLO KITTY' icons or otherwise discarded by the Paul character."
PERSON A: "And why does the Paul character dress the way he does in these pieces, in a spotted jacket and a pink ladies' hat?"
PERSON B: "From having watched this odyssey from the start, it would seem that is meant to represent a cossack hat, and, yes, a 'gay' one at that. Wilson is not above self-deprecation in his work, even if blatantly so. The jacket is an icon in that the artist actually owns said jacket, so one for his doll had been re-created in miniature so that audiences would indeed realize that the Paul-Doll is indeed Paul, lest they are confused. This is but one of many details the artist has maintained are key to creating his 'world.'"
PERSON A: "Peculiar."
PERSON B: "To many, yes. Even to the artist, at times."

That is the best way I can present it, Ms. Baker. My art is what is is, and as many embrace it for the humor it is meant to represent, and not as fact in any way. I can't deny what I like to do, for that is like denying myself.

Most sincerely,
-Paul (Wilson)

About M. Wesley Swearingen:
Swearingen, a 25-year FBI veteran and world renowned whistleblower on FBI corruption and wrongdoing, now rips away the veil of secrecy concealing the FBI’s treasonous misconduct in the 45-year cover-up of JFK’s assassination. He names Cuban exiles; Chicago Mafia; and bad cops trained by the CIA’s twisted murder conspiracy. Swearingen established his credibility in FBI SECRETS, AN AGENT’S EXPOSE?, when he documented FBI fraud and dishonesty. He successfully forced the FBI to admit the truth in cases where the FBI had lied under oath to the courts and to the Congress. Working pro bono he was instrumental in helping plaintiffs win lawsuits against the FBI. Groups such as the BPI of Chicago won in 1981; Fred Hampton and Mark Clark’s survivors won $1.8 million in 1982; the SWP won $246,000.00 in 1986; Geronimo Pratt was released from prison after 25 years and won $4.5 million in 2000. The late Judy Bari won $4.4 million in 2002. The author is in 18 films including US vs. John Lennon.
