"The Men Who Killed Kennedy and "The Love Affair" --Its Vanishing Playlist

Abraham Zapruder

Once again, the playlist for the banned History Channel documentary, THE LOVE AFFAIR, has vanished. After much searching, an avid supporter found the five segments, though scattered, and placed them in the correct order so they can be viewed in sequence (as they were originally before being scattered).

Along the same lines, over 230,000 references to my name have evaporated from the Internet. Yesterday another 100 vanished. When the level goes to 20,000 (it is now 20,200) I ask people to request google to restore the 'lost' references. Twice, it has then shot back up to over 26,000 this year. A far cry from quarter of a million, but hard to complain when Nigel turner, who once had 42,000 references, is now truncated on search engines to a mere 4,600, last I looked.

You find the exact number by placing "Judyth Vary Baker" in quotes before doing the name search, or "Nigel Turner" or "Lyndon Johnson," etc.

It is my hope that everyone reading this blog will make copies of the "playlist" and send it around. Censorship is a word that should not exist where humanity enjoys freedom of speech. Somebody tell that to those who are teaching our people that "conspiracy theory" is what anything involving Kennedy's death by any hand other than Oswald's should be called. We who tell the truth are supposed to be denounced,  our groups infiltrated, and disinformation is to be spread about us.

Several encyclopedias online have reproduced the now-erased inaccurate and nasty Wikipedia biography that had such choice gems in it as, I published several books, ran a number of businesses out of my university English teaching office, wrote a book called "From Dallas with Love" about Lee and me -- which never existed-- and worked for the Ochsner Clinic in 1972(!) -- the same year that somebody posed as "Judyth Vary Baker" to Ed Haslam in New Orleans. Because of this --God knows how I hated to ever have had to speak out, and waited many years -- but this must be corrected -- my authorized, official biography will be written and submitted to numerous sites within the next few days.
It is a fact that Oswald was innocent. The truth is overwhelming, despite the weight of Bugliosi's book, the weight of the 26 volumes, and the weight of the members of the Warren Commission (figuratively and physically). Against all those lies are many pieces of evidence, such as the tiny weight missing from the "Magic Bullet" versus to what was removed from Connally's shattered wrist, proving all by itself that other bullets were fired.
We now know for a certainty that the Zapruder film was drastically altered, thanks to "The Hollywood Seven" and Doug Horne's fine work, along with Dr. James Fetzer and his team of researchers (The Great Zapruder Film Hoax).
The indefatigable Ed Haslam, and those other great Americans who have battled to protect the truth from extinction are our true American heroes. One look at what America has become since 1963 shows what happens when a conspiracy removes a legally elected sitting American President.
(I'm not sure Bush-Shrub was legally elected -- are you?)
From that pivotal event in Dallas came the first President to resign from office, the first president APPOINTED to the office, a vice president's resignation for corruption, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the Afghanistan War, the war in Iraq (What next, Iran?). Not to mention rampant greed, corruption, etc. that is both ungodly and ubiquitous. Exhausted American families are being ripped apart by those who want to get the last drop of sweat and toil and energy from them.
Sweden's people get five weeks of paid vacation.
My friend who just came to visit me said he could not get ANY vacation the first year he worked as a security guard. The next year --one week.
My God! In the 1960's, we talked of 30 hour work weeks.
The American Dream is a nightmare of overwork, homeless, drugs, debt, poor diet and bankruptcy as any health problem can wipe out a lifetime of savings (I know!).
How is it that banks can be saved, with billions of dollars, but good, hard-working American families are turned out of their homes because they can't pay the banks due to the horrendous unemployment situation and what I will call the Great Depression of 2008? A freeze should be placed on all house payments for one year. Know what? That would save us. Instead, the banks got the money, but the people still had to pay the banks...a double-stuffed Oreo Cookie treat if I ever saw one -- but for the banks, not the people.
Student loans should be cancelled to give everybody a fresh start.
Do you consider that an outrageous idea?
Do you realize that our kids have a terrible future, due to the greed and evil that is ruining their lives?

Kids graduate with enormous debts to repay--and can't get a job! They default or defer their loans. I have spoken to many despairing students who have simply given up ever being able to repay their skyrocketing student loans--they deferred them a couple of years because they had no jobs.
Our poor kids have mortgaged their lives and their futures to the banks.
Who can afford to become a doctor?
Where are the dreams of all qualified students getting their chance to go to college?
Nor can I, who have a folder full of inventions, several of them medical inventions, turn any of them into reality, because the costs of development and patenting are so high. I will cheerfully donate my inventions in the medical field to anyone capable of turning them into reality. One is to prevent the formation of bedsores.
I've tried for two years to give the invention to someone capable of developing it.
Free.
Because I want to help people.
No takers.
Nobody can afford to do the patent search, pay for a patent, etc. Certainly not me.
Inventing something in America is easy.
Getting it to the people these days is extremely difficult.
Ford, Goodyear, Edison--they'd be helpless in today's milieu.
As for "American" (Industrial Complex) interventions and preemptive wars, where our precious young men and women die, supposedly to save us from terrorists, while, instead, we make good Muslims hate our guts, why don't we intervene in the situation in Darfur? Or Somalia? I'll tell you why: it's called a lust for money, oil, and power, an unquenchable greed, a deep and enduring case of corruption, that has nothing to do with preserving our freedom, but everything to do with making money.
You know it.
I know it.
It's a sad fact that doors are closing.
Doors of hope.
Doors of opportunity.
Our kids are having to leave America in order to make a decent new life for themselves.
...I was dismayed to see that the US ranks 47th (2009 statistics) in terms of longevity, with Bosnia, Puerto Rico and Jordan ranked higher.
(Ref: http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/hea_lif_exp_at_bir_tot_pop-life-expectancy-birth-total-population)
Sweden ranks #10, but only because so many crippled and wounded refugees from Iran, Iraq, Somalia, etc. swarm into that tiny country: without political asylum seekers (10% of Sweden's population is foreign-born) that country would rank right up there with Macao, Andorra, Japan, and its neighboring Scandinavian countries.
John F. Kennedy said that we must not ask what our country can do for us, but what can we do for our country.
The Number One thing we can do for our country is to care about the truth.

I have had the privilege of welcoming a young visitor from America. Fairly well-educated, he typifies the condition of so many young Americans: decent jobs are overseas, so he has come overseas in an attempt to survive this economic crisis.
He learned his history from the state-approved textbooks and the AP history courses. What he learned was slight, often wrong, and made little impression. He thought the "black panthers" killed Martin Luther King!
He thought Iraqi terrorists brought down the twin towers. He was told that in school!
And because the History Channel's "Conspiracy Theorists" online video described me as claiming to have "invented Aids" HE ASKED ME IF I HAD DONE SO!
I told him the truth and lamented the fact that nobody at the History Channel, who slammed me, Jim Marrs, and Edward Haslam--while at the same time making Jim Garrison look like a dunce, mentioning one of Garrison's odd, earlier ideas about the nature of the conspiracy that killed Kennedy, while ignoring his later, more accurate assessments ---I told him, I repeat, I told this young man that nobody at the History Channel ever asked me, before making their defamatory and libelous and even dangerous statements about me --- I repeat a third time--not one of them ever, at any time, met me, or spoke to me, to verify their outrageous claims before presenting them to who knows how many thousands of viewers.
The book Me & Lee: How I Came to Know, Love and Lose Lee Harvey Oswald-- will soon be released.
To you.
It is a book the History Channel does not want you or anybody else to read.
They want you to read the big book they praise for its size -- written by Bugliosi--a man who never met me, either, yet offered plenty of insults about me-- they want you to believe the Warren Commission, where the enemies of JFK were called together by Lyndon Johnson --including Dulles of the CIA who had been fired by Kennedy. From the beginning, the evidence was handled by the FBI and the CIA, with the Mayor of Dallas--Cabell--overwatching (his brother, a fine general, was also fired by Kennedy).
The truth can stand the test of time only if the truth is known.
Help me keep the truth alive.
I do need your help to spread the word.
Only with your help will I dare return to a beloved country.
Meanwhile, every day I will pick up a bottle of brown dirt and look at it--it is soil from the state of Texas, where it all happened. Sent to me by a researcher I respect, it is more important to me than anything else I have here in exile.
That soil comes from where all five of my children were born.
That soil comes from where the man I loved more than anything in the world was gunned down before my eyes, as I watched on TV -- accused, though he had courageously tried to save Kennedy, of Kennedy's murder, by the very people who orchestrated Kennedy's death.
That soil, which comes from where I wish I could have had a horse (once helped save 37 starving horses near Houston....).
Where dear and precious family and friends live...
The land of the free and the home of the brave...
My America.
Under seige.
Don't let the Truth die!
Help me.

CONSPIRACIES AND CONSPIRACISM : FROM DR. JAMES FETZER'S ONLINE JOURNAL, WITH COMMENTS BY JUDYTH VARY BAKER

MADISON, Wisc. -- A new study from Political Research Associates entitled Toxic To Democracy: Conspiracy Theories, Demonization, & Scapegoating, by Chip Berlet now proclaims that conspiracy theories are “toxic to democracy” because they share some portion of moral responsibility for irresponsible acts, such as the shooting of the abortion provider, Dr. George Tiller, which some have associated with Rush Limbaugh and other pro-life zealots. By adopting a sweeping stance that does not discriminate between different cases on the basis of logic and evidence, Berlet discredits himself. Since conspiracies only require collaboration between two or more individuals in illegal acts, they are as American as apple pie.

COMMENT BY JVB:  CONSPIRACY IS WHAT THE CIA IS ALL ABOUT:

"In most of its operations, the CIA is by definition a conspiracy, using covert actions and secret plans, many of which are of the most unsavory kind. What are covert operations if not conspiracies? At the same time, the CIA is an institution, a structural part of the national security state. In sum, the agency is an institutionalized conspiracy."    rEF:   questionsquestions.net The JFK Assassination II: conspiracy phobia on the left", by Michael Parenti, 1996

---------------------
Perhaps Berlet didn’t get the memo, but according to the government, the US was attacked on 9/11 by 19 Islamic fundamentalists who used box cutters to hijack four airplanes, outfox the most sophisticated air defense system in the world, and commit multiple atrocities under the control of a guy in a cave in Afghanistan.

When I published a critique of the “official account,” which suggests the facts contradict it, I used the title, THE 9/11 CONSPIRACY, in the knowledge that either way a conspiracy was involved -- either one told by the government using THE 9/11 COMMISSION REPORT, or something far more sinister, which involved key members of the Bush administration with a little help from their friends. (See, e.g., “9/11 and the Neo-Con Agenda” and the PowerPoint presentation, “Was 9/11 an ‘inside job’?,” which is archived at 911scholars.org.)

According to Berlet, belief in a conspiracy turns out to be the manifestation of a “belief system” that violates the principles of logic. Having taught logic, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning for 35 years, however, the violations of logic seem to be committed by the author. Berlet commits many fallacies in the course of his study, including some stunning, easily disprovable generalizations about reasoning:

“Conspiracism is neither a healthy expression of skepticism nor a valid form of criticism; rather it is a belief system that refuses to obey the rules of logic. These theories operate from a pre-existing premise of a conspiracy based upon careless collection of facts and flawed assumptions. What constitutes ‘proof’ for a conspiracist is often more accurately described as circumstance, rumor, and hearsay; and the allegations often use the tools of fear -- dualism, demonization, scapegoating, and aggressively apocalyptic stories -- which all too often are commandeered by demagogues.” (Toxic to Democracy)

COMMENT BY JVB:  But the government was allowed to do just that during the reign of McCarthyism: specifically: "....demonization, scapegoating, and aggressively apocalyptic stories -- which all too often are commandeered by demagogues..."

---------------

No one would deny that a certain proportion of the American public may be vulnerable to “conspiracism” in this sense, which represents the modus operandi of Rush Limbaugh and other right-wing zealots, who find conspiracies to be a ubiquitous part of public life, from left-wing efforts to spend the country into oblivion to encouraging illegal immigrants to flow into the country unabated to questioning whether Barack Obama has the qualification for office of being “native born.”

These are the kinds of “conspiracy theories” that are a dime a dozen, which find gullible followers across the country by the bushel basket.

But so what?

If conspiracy theories like these are supposed to be “toxic to democracy,” then democracy needs to be made of sterner stuff.  Circumstance, rumor, and hearsay, after all, tend to be the starting point for more serious studies of specific events.

The BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is a case in point.

Who has not heard swirling rumors about Halliburton having cut corners, the BP practice of putting profits before safety, and the further catastrophes that await those who reside along the coast of the states that are most directly affected? Puzzlement over phenomena that do not readily fit into our background knowledge and preliminary understanding is the point of departure for scientific investigations that may better reveal the truth.
Suppose we were prohibited from speculation and rumor in relation to the events that have made the most difference to American history in recent time?

COMMENT BY JVB: WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF THIS KIND OF CENSORSHIP OF THOUGHT.
IS IT REALLY "UNAMERICAN" TO RECALL THAT WE WERE TOLD IRAQ HAD RAILROAD CARS LOADED WITH WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, AND WE HAD TO ACT FAST AND INVADE THAT COUNTRY, IN A PREEMPTIVE ACT OF WAR, TO SAVE OURSELVES?  WE BLINDLY DID WHAT WE WERE TOLD.  DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT DISSENTERS WERE CALLED?

"In the famous Pentagon Papers case, the government sought to prohibit The New York Times and The Washington Post from publishing a series of articles about some highly classified documents about the U.S. government and the Vietnam War.
Then-Attorney General John Mitchell sought injunctions to prohibit the newspapers from publishing such information. The case eventually reached the U.S. Supreme Court, which in 1971 ruled 6-3 in favor of the press. In his opinion, Justice Hugo Black wrote: "Only a free and unrestrained press can effectively expose deception in government. And paramount among the responsibilities of a free press is the duty to prevent any part of the government from deceiving the people and sending them off to distant lands to die of foreign fevers and foreign shot and shell."

THIS REMINDS ME OF WIKI=-LEAKS TODAY....

---------------------------------------

The most important aspect of reasoning is comparisons between different theories to measure which best explains the data.
Indeed, Jesse Ventura’s AMERICAN CONSPIRACES advances no less that 14 illustrations of the collaboration between two or more individuals to bring about illegal ends, from the assassination of Abraham Lincoln (where four co-conspirators were hanged from the same gallows at the very same time), to the big-money conspiracy to overthrow the government in 1934 on to Watergate, the Jonestown Massacre, the Iran-scam that gave the presidency to Ronald Reagan, drug-dealing by the CIA, and many more -- a list that can be readily expanded by the assassinations of JFK, RFK, MLK, and Malcolm X (see, for example, JFK and RFK: The Plots that Killed Them, The Patsies that Didn’t).

Berlet claims (what he calls) conspiracism “must be confronted as a flawed analytical model, rather than a legitimate mode of criticism of inequitable systems, structures, and institutions of power.” He claims it suffers from four debilitating features as “metaframes” of the model:

1) dualism, according to which the world is -- presumably simplistically -- divided into the forces of good and the forces of evil;

2) scapegoating, according to which an individual or group of people is wrongly stereotyped with negative characteristics;

3) demonization, according to which an individual or a group is taken to be the personification of evil; and,

4) apocalyptic aggression, which occurs when scapegoats are targeted as enemies of the “common good” and may be subjected to violence.

What is fascinating about these categories is how well they fit many of the government’s own campaigns to convince the American people to support an unpopular course of action.

After 9/11, for example, the world was divided into the forces of good (the Americans) and those of evil (the Mulsims). Members of the Muslim community were said to be fanatical and violent, contrary to the principles of the Koran. Nineteen alleged hijackers and al Qaeda were scapegoated as responsible for those atrocities. And wars of aggression would be launched against Iraq and Afghanistan, which continue to this day.

Berlet tells us that what “conspiracy theorists lack is the desire or ability to follow the basic rules of logic and investigative research.”

We can all remember being told Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11, but eventually even George W. Bush acknowledged that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11.
We were told that Iraq was in cahoots with al Qaeda, but investigations by the Senate and the Pentagon showed that that was not the case.
And when Ed Haas of “The Muckraker Report” questioned Tex Tomb of the FBI about why 9/11 received no mention on a “wanted poster” for Osama bid Laden, he was told the reason was the FBI had “no hard evidence” connecting Osama bin Laden to the events of 9/11. But if Saddam was not responsible, and if Osama was not responsible, then who was responsible for 9/11?

Indeed, according to THE 9/11 COMMISSION, 15 of the 19 alleged hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.

The number from Iraq was zero.
So why did we attack Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia?
That looks like a stunning illustration of the failure to follow basic rules of logic or investigative research.

As Ron Suskind, THE PRICE OF LOYALTY, reported, George W. Bush’s first secretary of the Treasury, Paul O’Neil, was astonished that war with Iraq was discussed at the first meeting of the cabinet, nearly nine months before the events of 9/11. Which means 9/11 was used as a fabricated rationale to support a predetermined conclusion, which appears to have been a policy that was adopted by Bush and Cheney before their formal inauguration.

While Berlet insists that “conspiracism” fails to follow the basic rules of logic and investigative journalism, he should have explained that rumor and conjecture represent the second stage of scientific modes of reasoning, where it is crucial to elaborate all possible alternative explanations to insure that the true hypothesis is not excluded from scratch.

COMMENT BY JVB: CAN YOU IMAGINE REFUSING TO TEST CERTAIN HERBS TO SEE IF THEY HAVE ANTI-CANCER PROPERTIES BECAUSE THE HERBS ARE RUMORED IN FOLKLORE TO CURE CANCER?  THAT'S THE SAME KIND OF ILLOGICAL REASONING THAT GOES ON WHEN WE, THE PEOPLE, ARE ASKED NOT TO THINK FOR OURSELVES REGARDING GOVERNMENT PLANS AND DECISIONS.

-------------

Thus, the first stages of puzzlement and of speculation are followed by those of adaptation (of hypothesis to evidence, using likelihood measures of evidential support) and of explanation (when the evidence has “settled down” and the best supported hypothesis is entitled to acceptance in the tentative and fallible fashion distinctive of science (see “Thinking about ‘Conspiracy Theories: 9/11 and JFK”).

The essence of Berlet’s book, however, is that he believes conspiracy theories come out of psychological needs of prejudiced people, which makes them INTERNAL FANTASIES. He is thereby throwing the crime baby out with the conspiracy bath water. Conspiracies really do happen in the EXTERNAL WORLD. They are not merely internal figments of the imagination. It is true that some people embrace conspiracy theories and reveal themselves by the inability to improve or adjust their views in light of new evidence or new hypotheses. If they are scapegoating, then the internal origin of their conspiracy need is manifest. However, conspiracy crimes are commonplace and external to us. When they are the subjects of objective investigations, those who study them are governed by logic and evidence, which are basic to rationality.

Ultimately, Berlet has defined a belief system called “conspiracism” that has only tenuous connections with conspiracies. While some gullible persons may satisfy its constraints, there are vastly more conspiracies than there are examples of conspiracism. Ask what Shakespeare would have had to write about if not for plots against the kings and queens of England. How many victims of conspiracies have died in the 20th century alone? In his brilliant study, “The Silence of the Historians,” for example, David W. Mantik, M.D., Ph.D., lists the names of more than two dozen prominent political figures -- from Franz Ferdinand and Czar Nicholas II to Salvadore Allende and Fidel Castro -- who were targeted for assassination by multiple conspirators on a single page of MURDER IN DEALEY PLAZA (page 402).

The ultimate failure of Berlet’s study is that it succumbs to the kind of simplistic thinking that he condemns.

The world is divided into forces of good (the rational thinkers) and evil (the conspiracy theorists).
The evil conspiracy theorists are stereotyped as trading in circumstance, rumor, and hearsay, while the rational thinkers follow the rules of logic and investigative journalism.
Their careless collections of facts and flawed assumptions are often commandeered by demagogues.
And of course they can be used to incite unjustified violence against innocent parties.

But this presumes knowledge of which claims are true and which assumptions are flawed. Simplistic thinking of Berlet’s kind does not advance understanding. As Michael Moore said, when asked if he was into conspiracy theories, ”Only those that are true.” Each case must be evaluated on its merits using logic and evidence.

Thanks to Mike Sparks for inviting my attention to Berlet’s study and more.
